Alex Springer is in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at M.I.T. He brings valuable experience and perspective to design for Recon Therepeutics. His past projects include an anemia diagnostic device for use in rural Nicaraguan healthcare clinics, a concept product for noise-reduction in hospitals and households called Aureus, and a voice-controlled wheelchair named V.I.D.A. Alex’s past experience in medical device design and research stem from internships and research positions at Vecna Technologies, the National Centre for Biological Sciences in Bangalore, India, the MIT Erdman Laboratory for microbes and inflammatory diseases as well as the MIT Yannas Laboratory for Tissue Engineering. He has been recognized as a Tau Beta Pi Engineering fellow, a TATA research fellow and assisted in authoring three scientific publications. Alex contributes to Recon therapeutics through design for manufacturing, supply chain logistics, top-level design, and user experience interfaces.
