Benjamin Maimon (co-founder) is a PhD student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, pursuing a degree in Medical Engineering & Medical Physics from the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology program. His research focuses on the development of novel Peripheral Nerve Interfaces at MIT Media Lab’s Biomechatronics group.
Benjamin has a broad background in mechanical engineering design and rapid prototyping for the medical device industry. Prior to starting his PhD, Benjamin consulted for medical device start-ups iRhythm Technologies and DC Devices specifically in mechanical design for their cardiology products. He has also worked for Medtronic helping to define the mechanical behavior of their implantable neurological stimulators.
In addition to mechanical design, Benjamin also has management consulting experience working as an analyst for the private equity practice of Dean & Co. In this role, Benjamin conducted due diligence analyses for acquisitions in a wide range of industries including the biopharmaceutical supply chain, and a $100MM acquisition in the construction materials sector.
Benjamin graduated from Duke University with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering.
